Camping & Picnic Areas

Camping and picnicking are great ways to relax and rejuvenate your senses in Wyoming's scenic outdoors. The campgrounds and picnic areas operated by the Forest Service and the BLM are typically found in scenic areas, close to trailheads and water. Many have restrooms, trash cans and drinking water available.
CAMPGROUNDS
Campsites at the Snowy Range campgrounds, the Sierra Madre Mountain Range campgrounds and the Pole Mountain campgrounds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, each have several sites that can be reserved in advance at 1-877-444-6777 or at www.recreation.gov. Click on the preceeding campground links to view locations, fees, RV length limits and on-site services. As some campgrounds may be closed due to hazardous tree removal, please check with the Saratoga Forest Service office at 307-326-5258 and the Laramie Forest Service office at 307-745-2300 for current closures.
In addition to the campgrounds located on the Forest, there are also two BLM maintained campgrounds located at the North Platte River Bennett Peak access. Dispersed camping is also allowed in remote areas of the backcountry, provided camps are at least 200 feet from lakes and streams.
And for those who wish to stay in town, close to shops and restaurants, there are a few privately-owned campgrounds in Saratoga, Riverside and Woods Landing.
